Description

Handmade pear veneer marquetry inlay. The whole of the pear marquetry inlay is cut in pear veneer without any shading. The background veneer is in sycamore with the grain direction going lengthways. All the veneers in the wood inlay are from 0.5mm thick. It’s design is very similar to the seaweed inlays in our shop.

Originally this wood inlay would have gone onto chair backs.

The overall size of the sycamore background is 365mm long, this is the grain direction x 90mm high. The marquetry size is 230mm long x 35mm high.

There is paper on the back to keep the pear and sycamore veneer together, this can be easily removed once the inlay has come out of press.
